Technical Specifications

HiTape® is made from carbon tows with thermoplastic veils on each side, offering high permeability and formability.
Available in various areal weights and widths, with standard areal weights up to 500 gsm.
Prepreg-like mechanical performance with HexFlow® resins, achieving 60% fibre volume content and very low void content.

Manufacturing Process

HiTape® supports out-of-autoclave processes, including infusion and injection, reducing assembly time and eliminating the need for nitrogen.
Suitable for complex structures with integrated design and standard Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) equipment.
Typical processes include vacuum infusion and low-pressure injection, with demonstrated applications in aircraft fuselage panel manufacturing.

Applications and Collaborations

Hexcel collaborated with Aerolia SAS (Stelia Aerospace) to design and manufacture an aircraft fuselage panel demonstrator using HiTape® and HexFlow® RTM6 resin.
