HexFlow® HT 804 Resin Infusion System Provisional Data Description HexFlow® HT 804 is a solvent free modified epoxy isocyanurate – Resin system based on Diphenylmethane-diisocyanate. With the addition of a suitable catalyst it reacts to a highly crosslinked duroplast with excellent heat and high temperature resistant properties. Due to the variable resin consistency it is possible to optimise the system for different infusion processes. Resin specifications Density Viscosity Flash point Tg Cure Cycle Optimum mechanical and electrical properties are achieved in HexFlow ®HT systems through heat curing. The resin HexFlow® HT 804 can be cured by observing the following heating sequence: – with subsequent cooling to approximately 40 °C in the heating cabinet. The cast part is then demoulded. This curing sequence should be observed in order to achieve stress-free castings. It is also possible to demould the part after the 160 °C phase and to immediately anneal it at 200 °C (not allowing it to cool), thereby making the mould available for the next casting sequence. It is not advisable to demould parts at below 160 °C (e.g. after the 120 °C phase already), since stress cracks can occur. The curing cycle is also depending on shape and wall thickness of the part. Open the catalog to page 1Safety Precautions during Processing The system contains a small percentage of amines and 4,4'diphenylmethane-diisocyanate. When the raw materials come into direct contact with the skin irritation may occur. Always wear safety goggles and protective gloves (rubber or PVC) when working with the system. Splashes on the skin must be wiped off, and the contaminated areas must be thoroughly washed with soap and water. Subsequently these areas should be treated with a good barrier cream.
