This makes the HP StoreVirtual 4335 with Adaptive Optimization ideal for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) deploying server virtualization. HP StoreVirtual 4335 Storage gives you hybrid storage purpose-built to deliver innovative sub-volume auto-tiering for simple and affordable workload acceleration. Built on the latest, most advanced hardware from HP and powered by the proven HP LeftHand OS, the HP StoreVirtual 4335 combines both rotational and solid-state drive (SSD) capacity to accelerate workloads exponentially.1 Adaptive Optimization provides intelligent, automatic, and transparent performance optimization by monitoring data access patterns at a granular level based on a page size of 256 KB. With the use of Adaptive Optimization, the HP StoreVirtual 4335 identifies pages that contain the most frequently accessed or “hot” data on the system. Adaptive Optimization automatically moves these pages onto higher-performing, Tier-0 storage comprised of SSD capacity. The system maintains a data “heat map” to continually track data access frequency and accelerate “hot” pages dynamically for the most efficient use of SSD capacity. The flexibility you need HP StoreVirtual Storage is the only software-defined storage platform that offers you the choice between multiple sizes of virtual storage appliance (VSA) as well as HP ProLiant rack-based and blade-based hardware models. This flexibility lets you simplify management and maintain consistency as you scale from one model to another, define multiple storage tiers, and mix or match different deployment options to fit your needs. The standard HP StoreVirtual 4335 Hybrid Storage configuration includes: • Intel® Xeon ® Processor E5-2640 • (3) 400 GB enterprise mainstream SSDs • (7) 900 GB small form-factor SAS drives • LeftHand OS 11.0 with Adaptive Optimization This configuration uses SAS drives, SSDs, and the LeftHand OS feature Adaptive Optimization to automate dynamic movement of frequently accessed data onto SSDs while placing less frequently accessed data on more economical hard disk drive (HDD) capacity.
