ReAct 730
Hernon® ReAct® 730 is a high-strength, non-flammable structural adhesive that cures rapidly at room temperature when used with Hernon® EF® Activator 56 or 59. It is suitable for bonding metals, ceramics, glass, and some plastics.
- Chemical Type: Modified methacrylate
- Appearance: Light yellow liquid
- Viscosity: 60,000 to 80,000 cP at 77°F (25°C)
- Specific Gravity: 1.09
- Coefficient of Thermal Conductivity: 0.19 W/(m·K)
The cure speed depends on the substrate and bond gap. Shear strength is tested according to ASTM D1002, with EF® Activator 59 applied to one surface.
- Hot Strength: Maintains strength at elevated temperatures.
- Heat Aging: Retains significant strength after aging at 100°C and 120°C for 1000 hours.
- Chemical/Solvent Resistance: Varies with different chemicals, maintaining over 100% strength in motor oil at 87°C.
Not recommended for use in pure oxygen or chlorine systems. Compatibility with aqueous washing systems should be verified.
- Ensure surfaces are clean and grease-free.
- Apply EF® Activator 56 or 59 to one surface and adhesive to the other. Assemble within 15 minutes.
- For larger gaps or faster cure, apply activator to both surfaces and assemble immediately.
- Clamp until adhesive is fixtured and allow full strength development before service loads.
Store in a cool, dry place between 45°F to 85°F (7°C to 29°C). Avoid contamination of unused material.
