Therefore, opera�on conditons must be �ghtly controlled. 3.4.2 When shunt capacitor is intalled in the system, following items should be fully noted: a. In places where harmonic content are massive, shunt capacitor should not be mounted directly. Please concatenate harmonic restraining capacitor.In places where harmonic content is normal, please raise the voltage level of capacitor or use filter capacitor. (The common harmonic sources are: converters, DC rec�fiers, inverters, electroly�c pla�ng equipment, medium frequency furnaces, and arc furnaces.) b. When electric motor is permanently connected with shunt capacitor, the capacitor that with the current less than 90% of no-load current of electric motor is recommended. c. When the transformer is idle, the capacitor should quit opera�on. 3.4.3 When shunt capacitor is installed in the system, only special-use switches, contactors, electronic complex switches, and overcurrent relays that can restrict inrush current and prevent reigni�on should be chosen. 3.4.4 Only when capacitor re-switching on is delayed over three minutes and the power must be shortcircuit discharged a�er shut off, should touch or test be conducted. 3.4.5 When small-sized circuit breaker is used as shortcircuit protec�on, the capacitor with 2-3 �mes rated current should be chosen.
