Correct and Proper Use
Gas and air filters are designed to protect downstream devices and fittings from contamination. They are suitable for filtering dust and dirt particles from natural gas, town gas, liquid gas (gaseous), and air, in compliance with DVGW code of practice G 260.
Operating Data
The filters are available in two versions: ..50.. for a maximum pressure (PS) of 16 bar, and ..55.., GT5 (HTB) for a maximum pressure of 5 bar. The permissible operating temperature ranges from -10°C to +80°C.
Construction
The housing is made of GJS-400-18U-LT, with a cover of S235 JRG 2. Flanged connections comply with DIN EN 1092 PN 16. The filter pad is made of polypropylene fleece with galvanized steel support wire, and the cover seal is NBR. Different sizes (DN 25 - DN 150) have specific drilling and vent connections as per DIN EN ISO 228-1.
Certifications
The filters comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU for sizes greater than DN25, the Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426, and DVGW-G (DIN 3386) for series ..55..
Fitting
The filters can be installed on horizontal and vertical indoor pipes. Installation, operating, and maintenance instructions for Marchel gas filters must be observed.
General Information
The filters offer low pressure loss, high dust accumulation capacity, and a high filtration grade of approximately 50 μm. The ..55.., GT5 (HTB) version meets higher thermal resistance requirements (650°C for 30 minutes).
Diagrams and Flow Rates
Diagrams are provided for gases according to DVGW direction G 260 and for air. An example is given for natural gas with a flow rate of 4,150 m³/h and an operating excess pressure of 14 bar, resulting in a minimum filter size of DN 80, a flow rate in operating condition of 283 m³/h, a filter flow velocity of 1.25 m/sec, a pipe flow velocity of 15.6 m/sec, and a pressure loss of 27 mbar.
