Technical datasheet / PRODUCT Edition October 2020 / Non contractual document Special purpose bushings FAM® bushings HIGH ABRASION RESISTANCE UNDER EXTREME OPERATING CONDITIONS: SIGNIFICANT SHOCKS, HIGH PRESSURE, NO MAINTENANCE. FAM® bushings, made from manganese steel, have excellent resistance to abrasive wear due to mechanical conditioning of the friction zone APPLICATIONS EXAMPLE : The FAM bushings properties allow significant improvements in the following applications: Abrasion resistance: Tunneling machine – Mining drillers - Continuous miners ... Impact resistance: Grapple - Clamshells – Ingot conveyor bushings -… Seizure resistance, even without lubrication: Blooms conveying rollers on the continuous casting line Articulation of furnace doors - Articulation of slab grapple and coil grapple - Overhead crane - coil conveying chain… CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SLIDING SURFACE: The contact surface of the FAM® bushings is mechanically treated to obtain a high hardness superficial layer o which is restored under the effect of mechanical stresses (impacts, abrasion). This contact zone can be smooth or have surface sculptures. Conditions of use Maximum Static pressure Maximum Dynamic pressure Maximum speed Maximum temperature Greasing intervals Up to 300 MPa depending on topography Up to 50 MPa depending on the applications 0,05 m/s depending on the applications Jusqu’à 380°C depending on the applications Greased or maintenance free depending on the topography and the applications THE FAM® TECHNOLOGY IS A HEF TECHNOLOGY - HEF IS THE ONLY AUTHORIZED

However, under special operating conditions (heavy loads, large diameters) the tightening may be increased. For more details, please contact us. FUNCTIONAL CLEARANCES Inner bushing diameter 25 mm < ID < 50 mm 50 mm < ID < 100 mm 100 mm < ID Outer bushing diameter Pin’s tolerance Nota : These clearances can be increased in case of high abrasion application. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FAM® bushings are preferably assembled by press fitting or by liquid nitrogen. (Other assembly techniques can...
