Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed specifications and features of the RPV Series Pressure Relief Valves designed for chemical feed systems. These valves are crucial for preventing over-pressure by redirecting excess chemical flow back to the tank or pump suction side when preset pressure levels are exceeded.
Specifications: The valves are available in sizes ranging from 1/4" to 2" and are constructed from thermoplastic materials such as PVC, CPVC, PP, or PVDF. They feature a PTFE/EPDM diaphragm and are preset to 50 psi, adjustable via an adjustment screw. The valves should be installed close to the pump, with no intervening valves or accessories.
Key Features: The valves include a Noryl™ molded dome, 304 stainless steel bolting, and FNPT threads. They are rated to withstand pressures up to 250 psi at 70°F for PVC, CPVC, and PVDF, and 150 psi for PP. Options include various port configurations and diaphragm materials.
Applications: Typical applications include chemical dosing, transfer and processing, and chlorination systems.
Materials: The document specifies material standards such as PVC Cell Class 12454 per ASTM D1784 and CPVC Cell Class 23447 per ASTM D1784.
Dimensions: A table provides dimensions for each valve size, detailing measurements in both inches and millimeters.
Parts List: The main components include the valve body, dome, diaphragm, compressor, spring, and adjustment screw.
Spare Parts: Available spare parts include diaphragms, springs, and a rebuild kit containing a diaphragm, compressor, adjustment screw, and spring.
Performance Curve: A graph illustrates the pulsating flow in US gallons per hour against pressure in psi for different valve sizes.
Contact Information: Contact details for Hayward Flow Control in the USA and Canada are provided for further inquiries.

NPPRPV0915 - RPV Series Pressure Relief Valves-1

RPV Series Pressure Relief ValveS SIZES 1/4" TO 2" All Thermoplastic diaphragm Pressure Relief Valve for protecting against over-pressure in Chemical Feed Systems. When the preset pressure is exceeded, the diaphragm is forced up and the chemical flows out of the relief port, back to the chemical tank or the suction side of the pump. All valves are preset at 50 psi, however they are field adjustable via the adjustment screw. Relief valves should be set approximately 15 psi higher than the system pressure. Installation should always be made as close to the pump as possible, without any valves or accessories between the relief valve and the pump.
