HAYWARD INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS INSTRUCTION SHEET 3 - 12Ԕ CHAIN OPERATOR Part Numbers CO1 and CO2 > Chainwheels eliminate the need for handwheels by mounting directly to the geared operator stem. Chainwheels control overhead valves economically and permit direct shaft-to-shaft operation pro-viding safety and versatility. Hubs are bored to fit gear shafts. Available in cast iron or aluminum. 1. Remove handwheel from gear operator. (if installed) 2. Install chain wheel onto gear operator being careful to properly align cross-pin holes and install cross-pin. 3. Install chain through guide-holes in chain guide leaving enough slack to place over groove in sprocket rim. 4. Install assembled chain and chain guide onto gear-operator hub. Make sure that the guide-holes in the chain guide and the groove in the sprocket rim are ALIGNED! 5.
