Since SF6 is only used as insulation, there is no health hazard from toxic byproducts of arcing. GVS-W Switch Sectionaliser For Pole Mounting and Substation Applications The GVS-W can be pole or substation mounted and can be used as a general-purpose sectionalising switch or it can be integrated into the most advanced distribution automation schemes. In addition, the 38kV GVS-W has been tested at for single capacitor bank switching at 400A (22.86MVA at 33kV) to IEC 60056.
