Power pack Multistat

Power pack Multistat

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document describes the Power Pack Multistat, a device that supplies voltage to ionizers by transforming mains voltage into a 7–8 kV alternating current using a high-voltage transformer. It is designed with four gas-tight high voltage terminals and complies with protection type IP 54 and protection class I as per VDE standards.
Special Features and Advantages: The Multistat features self-balancing high tension, eliminating the need for adjustments. It includes an analogue instrument for output high tension indication and optical signals (LED) for fault indication. The device supports integration into quality assurance systems through floating changeover contacts.
Applications: The Multistat is applicable in various industries, including plastic processing (film extruders, plastic tubes), packaging (packing and filling machines), graphics (folding machines), and electrical (printed circuit board manufacture).
Possible Configurations: The device can supply all HAUG ionizing units equipped with the patented coaxial plug-and-socket connection System X-2000, such as ionizing bars, annular electrodes, ring ionizers, and air-assisted ionizing systems.
Performance Monitoring: Efficient operation requires a minimum voltage of 4.2 kV. The system continuously monitors the high tension, signaling any drop below this threshold as a malfunction. Fault signals can be integrated with machine control or production monitoring systems.
Technical Data: The Multistat is available in 115 V and 230 V versions, with a power consumption of approximately 80 VA and a rated output voltage of 7–8 kV. It has a short-circuit output current of 5 mA and can connect to ionizing units up to 18 m in length. The operating temperature ranges from +5 °C to +45 °C, with a storage temperature range of -15 °C to +60 °C. The device weighs 5 kg and includes a 2.6 m mains cable.
Accessories: Signalling cables are available in various lengths (5 m, 10 m, 20 m) with round plugs, and additional plug options include round and angled plugs.

HAUG Ionization – for the elimination of electrostatic charges Power pack Multistat The Multistat power pack supplies voltage to ionizers. The mains voltage is transformed into a 7–8 kVAC alternating current by a high-voltage transformer. Performance monitoring For an ionization system to work efficiently, a voltage of at least 4,2 kVAC (corona inception voltage) is required. By monitoring the electronic control of the output voltage, the high tension is continuously monitored; any drop below the corona inception voltage is signaled as malfunction. This fault signal may be linked with e.g. the machine control system or the production monitoring system using the signalling socket integrated into the housing and a signalling cable. Corona inception voltage (beginning of effectiveness of ionizing units) U/kVAC Correct tension area Corona inception voltage 4.2 kVAC Control LED flashing / change contact released Special features and advantages • Self-balancing high tension; no adjustments or settings on the Multistat are required • Indication of the output high tension by means of an analogue indicating instrument • Fault indication in case of insufficient output voltage voltage by means of an optical signal (light-emitting diode/LED) and a floating changeover contact Possible configurations The Multistat can be used to supply all HAUG ionizing units which are equipped with the patented coaxial plug-and-socket connection System X-2000, such as: • Ionizing bars • Fault indication in case of insufficient mains voltage by means of a floating changeover contact • Annular electrodes • The floating changeover contacts allow both a status check and an error check to be performed • Air-assisted ionizing systems • Ring ionizers • The Multistat allows the integration of the fault signals into a quality assurance system • The patented coaxial plug-and-socket connection System X-2000 ensures a secure connection. The assembly of the connector is straightforward and dous not require any tools Applications • Plastic processing industry: Film extruders, film processing, manufacturing of plastic tubesm sections, shells and rods and in plastic extruders • Packaging industry: Packing machines, filling machines and bag manufacture • Graphics industry: Folding machines, print processing • Electrical industry: printed circuit board manufacture www.haug.de E-mail: [email protected] Switzerland www.haug-ionisation.com E-mail: [email protected] Static Line - Power pack Multistat The power pack has four gas-tight high voltage terminals and has been manufactured in accordance to type of protection IP 54
