SELECTION GUIDE

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document serves as a selection guide for Hardy's ADVANTAGE® Line of load sensors and weighing systems, detailing specifications, features, and selection criteria for various models.
Key Features of Hardy Load Sensors:
  • Blind Loading Hole: Ensures precise load application, minimizing side and eccentric load effects.
  • Hermetic Sealing: Select models are rated IP68/IP69K, with nitrogen-filled sensing areas to prevent moisture and corrosion.
  • Matched MV/V & MV/V/OHM: Sensors are electrically matched, eliminating the need for corner adjustments or recalibration.
  • High Overload Limit: Capable of handling up to 200% safe overload, reducing susceptibility to shock loads.
  • Material and Construction: Constructed from 316 electro-polished stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
C2® Calibration System:
  • Fast and Safe Calibration: Allows calibration with a single reference point without test weights.
  • On-board Certification: Stores performance characteristics internally for data retention.
  • System Components: Includes load points, junction box, cabling, and instrumentation for easy calibration.
Load Point Selection:
  • Determining Load Requirements: Calculate based on dead load, live load, and number of support points.
  • Selection Chart: Provides model numbers based on capacity ranges for single and multi-point systems.
Environmental Considerations:
  • Temperature Range: Standard sensors operate from 175°F to -40°F, with special sensors available for higher temperatures.
  • Sealing and Protection: Hermetically sealed and rated IP68 for dust and water immersion protection.
Material and Corrosion Resistance: The document discusses the use of 17-4 stainless steel for load points, providing high resistance to chemical corrosion. Zinc-plated steel is available for less demanding environments.
ADVANTAGE Line Load Points/Sensors: Hardy’s ADVANTAGE® Line load point assemblies include precision C2® load sensors with matched mounting hardware, high safe and ultimate loading limits, and are calibrated for mV/V/ohm and mV/V.
Single Point Series: The HI SP Series is designed for OEM, conveyor, and bench scale markets, featuring low sensitivity to off-center loads and C2® calibration capabilities.
HI LPB ADVANTAGE® Series: Designed for light to medium capacity vessels, featuring stainless steel load sensors with hermetic sealing and C2® Electronic Calibration.
HI HLPS ADVANTAGE® Series: Designed for medium to high capacity vessels, featuring stainless steel load sensors with hermetic sealing and C2® Electronic Calibration.
Specifications and Ordering Information: Detailed specifications for each series are provided, including rated output, non-linearity, hysteresis, zero balance, and more.
Load Sensors and Points: The Hardy ADVANTAGE Lite Series offers superior performance with rugged stainless steel mounting hardware and C2® Calibration compatible sensors.
Junction Boxes: The Hardy C2® certified Junction Box distributes excitation voltage to up to four load points and transfers performance characteristics to the weight controller.
Bench and Floor Scales: The ANY-WEIGH® Bench and Floor Scales are designed for flexibility and durability, featuring stainless steel tops and various interfacing options.
Ordering Information: Details on model numbers, sizes, capacities, and shipping weights are provided for both bench and floor scales.

The HARDY C2® Difference • FAST Calibrates with ONE reference point, not FIVE • SAFE Eliminates need for full-scale test weights • RELIABLE Data stored in chip Since 1994, thousands of weighing systems have been calibrated electronically using C2® Electronic Calibration by Hardy Process Solutions. Unlike calibration with test weights, all the live weight on the scale does not have to be removed and heavy test weights do not have to be repeatedly put on and off the scale. As soon as your scale system is installed, it can be C2 calibrated, and proper scale installation verified. The result is a...

SELECTING LOAD POINT SYSTEMS System Selection You can also determine the load point system required by calculating the system total load. The system will contain the appropriate load points for your system ordered under one number. The environment where the load point is to function may be a factor in selection. For example, the Advantage load sensors are designed to operate at temperatures of 175°F to -40°F; for higher temperature, special load sensors are available. Advantage sensors are hermetically sealed in the gauge area and at the cable entry allowing them to be classified at IP68. This...
