MACHINE CONSTRUCTION TALENT 51 MSY Work Envelope Y-axis Y-axis capability is a huge productivity enhancement on a turn/mill machine tool. To get Y-axis motion, an extra set of ways is used to move the live tool across the face of the spindle. By adding a third linear axis to the turning center turret it enables rotary cutters to machine across the spindle center line thus greatly expanding the milling capabilities of the machine.
