Overview of the Roto-Finish Centrifugal Barrel Machine (RCB Series)The RCB series is a high-speed mass
finishing machine designed for small parts, offering a process that is approximately 20 times faster than traditional vibratory methods.
Mechanical OperationThe machine operates by placing parts inside closed barrels with media, compound, and water. These barrels are mounted around a rotating turret, with the barrels rotating in the opposite direction to the turret. This creates a high-energy sliding action that ensures a uniform finish.
Barrel SpecificationsIn the one cubic foot models (RCB-1 or RCB8-1), barrels can be made of steel or composite with urethane liners. Composite barrels are suitable for processes under one hour, while steel barrels are used for larger machines.
Unique Features of the RCB8 SeriesThe RCB8 Series features an inclined barrel position relative to the turret, creating a double sliding action (figure 8 motion) for enhanced finishing efficiency.
Electronic Controls- Process timer
- Emergency stop
- Electronic clutch and brake
- Indicator lights
- Wiring for 230 or 460 / 3 / 60
- Safety interlocks to prevent operation with open guarding or covers
CapacitiesThe RCB series is available in models ranging from 1 to 10 cubic feet, with options for straight or figure-8 designs.
Process SupportA process lab is available to test parts and determine the optimal machine size and process time. The lab also advises on the best Roto-Brite® compound for specific applications.
