INDUSTRIAL EXCESS FLOW VALVES H-911 SERIES

INDUSTRIAL EXCESS FLOW VALVES H-911 SERIES

INDUSTRIAL EXCESS FLOW VALVES H-911 SERIES

Product catalog summary
Features
  • Constructed from stainless steel with a maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) of 6000 psi (413 bar) and a maximum allowable working temperature (MAWT) of 400°F (204°C).
  • Available in various connection sizes ranging from 1/8 to 1/2 inch and 6 to 12 mm.
  • Flow coefficients (Cv) of 0.5 and 1.1.
  • Functions as a safety system shutoff device.
General Description

The H-911 series valves are designed to maintain a normally open position through a spring-loaded poppet. If the system becomes unbalanced, the poppet seals to prevent excess flow. The system resets when downstream pressure increases, allowing the poppet to return to the open position.

Applications include fuel systems, toxic media systems, gas systems, and hydraulic & pneumatic systems.

Operating Principle

The valve operates by balancing pressures across the system. A spring mechanism resets the valve to the open position when pressures equalize. Ventilation outlets facilitate pressure balancing.

Cleaning & Packaging

Standard cleaning and packaging follow procedure 8184, with an option for oxygen clean and lubricant-free cleaning per procedure 8185.

Materials of Construction
  • Valve body and poppet: Stainless Steel ASTM - 276
  • Back up and O-ring: Fluorocarbon FKM
  • Spring: Stainless Steel 302
Pressure Temperature Ranges

Working pressure varies with temperature, with a maximum of 6000 psi at -10°F to 100°F. Different O-ring materials offer varying temperature ratings.

Flow Data

Flow data is provided for air and water at 70°F (20°C) with specific trip ranges for different connection sizes.

Ordering Information

Valves can be ordered with various end connection types, materials, and optional treatments. Standard O-ring material is Fluorocarbon FKM, with other materials available upon request.

Warning

The responsibility for selecting suitable products lies with the system designer and user, considering application details, material compatibility, and product ratings.

Stainless Steel Construction Variable connection sizes (1/8 to 1/2'' & 6 to 12mm) Safety System Shutoff Device 1. The poppet is loaded by a spring in a normally open position as long as the system is balanced. 2. If the system becomes unbalanced and the downstream pressure drops, the poppet moves towards the sealing area and prevents free, uncontrolled excess flow from the line. 3. If the downstream pressure increases, the ventilation outlet ("bleeding") enables the system to balance the pressures and (with the help of the spring) reset the system. In this situation, the poppet reverts back to...
