HARD ANODIC OXIDATION (HAO) - 1

,3 H ACER Traitements de Surface [Surface Treatments] DEFINITION Hard anodising is an aluminium anodising technique which can be used to obtain a thick passivation layer of aluminium oxide. OBJECTIVE To obtain a very thick (> 25 pm) and therefore very hard layer of aluminium oxide, enabling the use of aluminium alloys under very harsh conditions as a substitute for steel elements or treatments of hard chrome type. Also, to reduce corrosion speed by the presence of a natural or artificial passive film (passivation). APPLICATION Automotive industry, construction, sailing, household electrical appliances, aerospace, cosmetics, food applications, etc. On parts required to undergo high temperatures, significant friction, or exposure to a corrosive environment. PROPERTIES High surface hardness: 400 to 600 Vickers according to alloys Low friction coefficient Dielectric value up to 4000 Volts for a layer of 60 to 80 p Extreme pressure resistance (35,000 to 50,000 kg/mm2) Wide operating range, from - 198°C to + 650 ° C Oxide layer developed half within and half outside the original dimension CHARACTERISTICS Exceptional covering capacity (very low layer thickness dispersion) Thermal insulation, electrical insulation, Abrasion resistance, excellent corrosion resistance Excellent resistance in salt-spray tests, better rigidity. COMMENTS Special precautions are to be taken in certain regards: Dimensional tolerance, desired surface condition, avoid sharp angles with large thicknesses, type of alloy which influences colour of anodic films. Alteration of surface condition depending on type of alloy. Poor suitability of alloys under hard anodization. FINISHES Natural / Black Polishing / Satin-finishing Each part requires a specific study: We are at your disposal for any additional quotations or information Hacer Traitements de Surface
