Gutekunst Federn offers a wide range of metal springs, including compression, extension, and torsion springs, available in both standard and stainless steel. The catalog features 12,603 spring sizes with quantity-dependent pricing. Custom springs can be manufactured upon request.
The springs comply with RoHS and WEEE directives, ensuring they are free from harmful substances like lead or mercury. Gutekunst Federn is certified to DIN 9001:2008 and 14001:2004 standards.
A spring selection check card is included to assist in choosing the right spring based on load parameters. The WinFSB program and CAD data generator are available for detailed spring calculations and design.
Prices are listed per piece and per 100 pieces, with discounts for larger quantities. Special order processes may incur additional charges.

Quality control and testing are conducted according to DIN ISO 2859-1 inspection level II with an AQL of 1.0. Each tested article receives a test mark recorded in the quality record book. Quality control certificates are issued in compliance with EN 10204 standards.
Springs are designed according to EN 13906-1, with production compensation required to maintain tolerances as per EN 15800. Tolerances for standard-sized springs are specified, and adjustments are made by varying the number of active coils.
Compression springs are prone to buckling, which depends on size, guide method, and seat design. A scragging procedure is used to prevent springs from setting and ensure they return to their original free length.
Tolerances are maintained according to EN 15800 Grade 2, with Grade 1 available for an extra charge. Dynamic application data is relevant for springs with wire diameters above 0.8 mm if shot peened hardened surfaces are used.
Extension springs comply with DIN 2097 standards and are available with two loop positions: 180° and 270°. They are made from spring-steel wire EN 10270-1-DH and -SH, and stainless steel X10CrNi188.
Extension springs are designed according to EN specification 13906, section 2, and DIN 2097 Grade II standards. They can be delivered in pre-galvanized material for an additional charge.
Two loop positions are specified: 180° and 270°. The loops are stocked without openings, but openings can be added at an extra cost.
Springs made from material no. 1.4310 do not require re-coating after thermal treatment. Additional surface coatings can be applied, which may cause delays.
Springs can be used with stated deflections and loads for dead or infrequent strains. An arithmetical check is recommended for other applications.
Springs are tested according to DIN ISO 2859-1 level II standards. Quality control certificates are available, with charges applied for specific standards.
Torsion springs are available in both right-hand and left-hand coiling. The document emphasizes the importance of loading torsion springs in the direction of coiling.
Formulas for calculating the maximum possible spring load and the load at a particular angle are provided. The document follows EN specification 13906 section 3 and DIN 2194 Grade 2 for tolerances.
