grUnbeek *#WASSERAUFBEREITUNG UltrafiltrationProduct Data Sheet H 510Ultrafiltration Systems GENO®-Ultrafil 450/900 Application The ultrafiltration system GENO®-Ultrafil is designed for the reduction of microbiological loads (germs, bacteria, viruses, parasites) and turbid substances contained in the drinking water, in particular when installed in private water supply systems. Functioning The membrane filter of the ultrafiltration system GENO®-Ultrafil consists of a multitude of capillary membranes with a cut-off of less than 0,01 |jm. The endings of these capillary membranes are firmly sealed in a pressure pipe, thus ensuring a safe separation of the sector containing loaded raw water from the sector containing pure water. Functioning: The raw water which was pre-filtered by means of a fine filter (e. g. BOXER® RD) is directed to the raw water side of the membrane filter from the bottom and then flowing from the inside out through the membrane element. Micro-organisms and particles will be retained on the surface of the membrane. The filtrate accumulates in the upper part of the membrane filter and is available for consumption. After a freely-programmable time which depends on the load of the raw water, the membrane filter will be rinsed automatically for a short time, thus washing the filtered particles from the filter. The rinsing of the GENO®-Ultrafil 450 is effected by direct rinsing of the membrane by means of raw water. Fig. 1: GENO®-Ultrafil 450 In case of the GENO®-Ultrafil 900 system, the membranes are backwashed by means of filtrate prior to the rinsing by means of raw water. One membrane produces the filtrate required for the backwash of the other membrane. Afterwards, the filtration cycle is started again in both systems. During the rinsing, no filtrate is available for consumption. Areas of application The GENO®-Ultrafil 450 and 900 systems are solely suitable for the treatment of drinking water which cannot be used for consumption immediately due to its micro-biological load. • City water (drinking water according to the German Drinking Water Ordinance TrinkwV 2001) • Drinking water from wells and springs • Drinking water from treatment systems. Requirements A raw water pressure of at least 2.5 and max. 5 bar is required for the operation of a GENO®-Ultrafil ultrafiltration system. The raw water must be filtered by a prefilter with a filter fineness of less than 100 jm. The installation site must be clean, dry and frost-proof and it must provide a sufficiently dimensioned drain connection near the GENO®-Ultrafil system. As no water originating from a small system may enter the public drinking water supply, the public supply into a small system is only admissible if a free outlet according to DIN EN 1717 is available. Scope of delivery Basic equipment Microprocessor controller with LCD display to indicate the function and the maintenance interval by means of a voltage-free collective fault signal, ultrafiltration membrane with recommendation by the DVGW-KTW, manometer on the raw water and filtrate side, flow sensor, flame-sterilizable sampling valves on raw water and filtrate side, solenoid valves, pressure switch to protect the system from overpressure. High-quality system rack made of anodized aluminium for wall mounting by others on site. Installation and operation manual. grUnbeek *#WASSERAUFBEREITUNG UltrafiltrationProduct Data Sheet H 510 Optional accessories In order to ensure the smoothest operation of the filter system possible and to optimise the efficiency of the backwash, the ultrafiltration systems GENO®-Ultrafil 450 and 900 may be equipped with optional accessories. These consist of a filtrate tank, a fitting set for connection to the GENO®-Ultrafil system as well as a pressure booster. Using the additional equipment will result in the following advantages for the system operation : • no reduction in the filtrate flow during rinsing • constant pressure...
