GROB CUSTOMER TRAINING GROB extends training offering With its newly designed “GROB Assembly Lines“ training concept, GROB is extending its training programs considerably alongside the current offerings for systems and universal machining centers. GROB offers various training modules for machinists, programmers and maintenance technicians to promote even more effective use of GROB Assembly Lines. Against a background of increasing product complexity, customer training is gaining greater importance in the GROB service portfolio. In addition to individual advice and customer care, the focus is on offering a comprehensive choice of training programs. From machine operation to -programming, maintenance and inspection to mechanical and technical maintenance – they cover everything you need to know about the GROB product range. GROB provides its customers with intensive training to enable them to incorporate GROB machines within their work processes as efficiently as possible. Training options cover both general topics related to GROB products and special topics tailored to customer requirements. The challenge for the “GROB Assembly Lines” training concept GROB Customer Training is introducing a training program for assembly lines for the first time at EMO Hanover 2017. It is totally different from other familiar training concepts – assessing training is a complex process due to the individual nature of assembly lines. The content of and procedure for assembly lines training needs to be tailored to the individual customer. The right training can only occur if the training instructor receives intensive training on the system. Lack of routine experience of machines and systems can lead to uncertainty where customers are concerned. Assembly technology is always seeing new developments, meaning that trainers have to keep their level of expertise constantly up to date. Concept developed with the customer When training is agreed with the appropriate manager, they receive training through supporting the process startup on the assembly lines. Training times are specific to each case and decided in-house with the relevant departments – each assembly line or unit is taken into account individually. There are several benefits to this approach: training instructors are completely up to date and can swap feedback on the process startup with customers and colleagues. This secure approach to handling the machines means that training quality can be significantly improved and duration, content and topics can be assessed better. Because the first startup occurs in-house and training is on the actual machines and systems, the customer does not suffer any production problems. Training instructors are also up to speed with technical innovation – as they currently are in the e-mobility sector – and can pass on their acquired knowledge to the customer. “All in all, we are pleased to say that, in spite of the complexity of the subject of ‘Assembly Line Training’, we have found a very good approach for meeting the strong demand for assembly systems training”, says Walter Tuch, GROB Group Head of customer training. universal machining center for an initial 24 months.
