TechnaLoc® Bonded Slit Valve Door

TechnaLoc® Bonded Slit Valve Door

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Bonded Slit Valve Door (BSV) is designed to enhance the durability and performance of seals in semiconductor processing. It utilizes Greene, Tweed’s proprietary perfluoroelastomer compound, Chemraz®, or other elastomers as requested by customers, bonded to an aluminum or stainless steel door.
Key Features & Benefits:
  • Eliminates movement in the gland, improving seal integrity and reducing wear.
  • Durable materials like Chemraz withstand dynamic use, extending the life expectancy of slit valve doors.
  • Minimizes particle generation, reducing contamination risks.
  • Fills the gland completely to prevent leaks and enhance seal integrity.
  • Optimal compression set for improved seal longevity.
  • Bonded seal design simplifies installation, reduces downtime, and ensures correct seal orientation.
  • No traditional molded parting lines, enhancing seal integrity.
Installation & Maintenance: The BSV design simplifies the replacement process by requiring only the removal and replacement of a few bolts, as opposed to the traditional O-ring replacement method. This bonded design also reduces abrasion and particulation, potentially increasing seal life by up to ten times during wafer production.
Recommendations: Compatibility tests are advised before use to ensure suitability for specific applications, especially where failure could lead to injury or damage. Regular inspection and replacement programs are recommended, with Greene, Tweed technical personnel available for consultation.

TechnaLoc® Bonded Slit Valve Door-1

For Reduced Particulation and Ease of Installation BONDED SLIT VALVE DOOR ENGINEERED COMPONENTS The Bonded Slit Valve Door or “BSV” increases the life expectancy and performance of the door’s seal during semiconductor processing. Made from Greene, Tweed’s proprietary perfluoroelastomer compound—Chemraz® (or other customer requested elastomers)— the seal is bonded to an aluminum/stainless steel door. In the past, when O-ring replacement was the only option, cleaning the gland and installing a new O-ring was difficult. Now installation requires only removing and replacing a few bolts when replacing the complete BSV door assembly. Bonded Slit Valve Doors Increase Wafer Production in HDPCVD Processing tion in many processes compared to installation of a typical perfluoroelastomer O-ring. Therefore, a bonded-gate design can provide up to a 10-fold increase in seal life during wafer production. FEATURES & BENEFITS • Durable Chemraz or other fluorocarbon withstands dynamic use to increase life expectancy of slit valve doors Typical perfluoroelastomer in Slit Valve • Designed to eliminate movement in gland for improved seal integrity and less wear Wafers Produced Bonded Slit Valve Seal Also, a bonded design minimizes abrasion leading to less particula- • Limited particle generation for lower contamination • Designed to fill gland for improved seal integrity and elimination of potential leaks • Seal bonded to aluminum/stainless steel door to decrease replacement downtime, simplify installation and ensure proper seal orientation without twisting • No traditional molded parting lines for improved seal integrity Statements and recommendations in this publication are based on our experience and knowledge of typical applications of this product and shall not constitute a guarantee of performance nor modify or alter our standard warranty applicable to such products. Contact Us Greene, Tweed Semiconductor Kulpsville, PA, USA Prior to actual use it is recommended compatibility tests be run to determine suitability in a specific application. This is critical where failure could result in injury or damage. A regular program of inspection and replacement should be implemented.
