Magnetic Drive Pumps
Magnetic drive pumps function like standard centrifugal pumps but use a magnetic coupling to eliminate the need for a shaft seal, preventing leaks and allowing for up to 50,000 hours of continuous operation. They are ideal for handling aggressive chemicals due to their chemically inert plastic construction and built-in cooling passages that use the pumped liquid as a coolant.
Flow rates reach up to 35 gpm, with a maximum discharge head of 53 feet and fluid temperatures up to 250°F. Motors are available in AC or DC, with most models featuring sealed ball bearings and thermal protection.
Custom design and manufacturing options are available for OEM applications, with various motor and material options to meet specific requirements.
- 14110 Series: Max flow of 11 gpm, max head of 16 ft, and max fluid temperature of 180°F. Features corrosion resistance and flexible mounting.
- 14520 Series: Max flow of 26 gpm, max head of 35 ft, and max fluid temperature of 203°F. Known for quiet operation and low current draw.
- 15651 Series: Max flow of 3.75 gpm, max head of 13 ft, and max fluid temperature of 203°F. Offers efficient hydraulic design and flexible mounting.
- 17650 Series: Max flow of 9 gpm, max head of 50 ft, and max fluid temperature of 160°F. Suitable for high-pressure applications.
Replacement kits are available for all series, ensuring easy maintenance and extended pump life.
Typical applications include film processors, laser and x-ray cooling systems, and various medical and laboratory equipment, particularly in environments with flooded suction conditions.
Designed for a maximum fluid temperature of 160°F (71°C), with materials in contact with the solution including Vectra®, Noryl®, and various elastomers. The pump shaft is ceramic, and thrust bearings are available in glass-filled Teflon®, reinforced thermoplastic resin, and Vectra®.
Available with motors operating at 115V or 230V, 50/60 Hz, and are drip-proof with shaded pole options. Also available are 12V and 24V DC brushed and brushless motor options.
These pumps are corrosion-resistant, operate quietly, and are hydraulically efficient. They offer flexible mounting and body discharge positions, have no shaft seals, and are available in NSF certified models. They also have a low current draw and heat rise.
Various model numbers are listed with specifications such as voltage type, amperage, body material, O-ring material, and inlet/outlet connections. For example, model 17651-050 operates at 115 VAC with a Noryl® body and EPT/EPDM O-ring material.

Magnetic Drive Pumps Magnetic Drive Pumps Overview Magnetic drive centrifugal pump operation is similar to a standard centrifugal pump except the motor shaft seal is eliminated. Magnetic drive pumps are designed to isolate the pump body from the motor by driving an impeller and magnet assembly with a drive magnet attached to the motor shaft.
