Product catalog summary
Overview of PTO-driven MiniCAFS:
The PTO-driven MiniCAFS is a Compressed Air Foam System designed to enhance firefighting efficiency. It consists of three main components: an air compressor, the FoamLogix 2.1A foam pump and proportioning system, and a manifold for foam mixing and control. These components are installed according to vehicle manufacturer requirements and operate by mixing water, foam, and air to produce compressed air foam.
System Specifications:
  • The system operates with water supplied from the main pump at pressures between 4.0 and 7.0 Bar.
  • Foam proportioning ratio ranges from 0.1% to 9.9%.
  • The air compressor is a rotary twin screw type with a nominal output of 50 scfm at 7.0 bar.
  • The FoamLogix pump has a maximum flow rate of 8.0 l/min and is protected by a relief valve.
Key Benefits:
  • Improved firefighting efficiency with faster knockdown times.
  • Reduced water and environmental damage.
  • Decreased water usage.
  • State-of-the-art technology fully integrated into the appliance.
  • Variable air ratio control for selecting wet or dry foam.
  • Solid-state electronic control system for operator protection.
Foam Characteristics:
  • Designed for use with Class A firefighting foam concentrate, such as Angus Forexpan “S”.
  • Economical with a proportioning rate of 0.1% to 1.0% depending on application method.
  • Outstanding environmental characteristics and reduced storage space requirements.
  • Excellent foamability and a long shelf life of over 25 years if used according to guidelines.
Additional Information:
Hale Products Europe, a unit of IDEX Corporation, reserves the right to amend specifications without notice. The system includes a patented Hale X-Mixer for thorough mixing and a computer-controlled foam injection rate for accurate proportioning.

PTO MiniCAFS 2.1A-1

Improving firefighting with the latest CAFS technology The ptoMini-CAFS is a Compressed Air Foam System comprising of three major components –air compressor, FoamLogix 2.1A (foam pump and proportioning) and manifold (foam mixing and control system). The components are installed in locations according to the vehicle manufacturers requirements. The system will make compressed air foam when supplied with water from the main pump at pressures between 4.0 and 7.0 Bar. Water is supplied from the pump discharge and fed, via two non-return valves, into a manifoldassembly where a metered amount of foam (Class A only)is injected into the water flow. This foam/water solution is then fed to an air control valve, where a variable amount of wet or dry foam is selected (air ratio control section of manifold). Compressed air is injected and the resulting foam/water/air solution is thoroughly mixed (X-mixers) before being fed to a discharge flange.
