Product catalog summary
Introduction
The GLOBE Vane Air Motor models VA6J&X, VS6C, and VA6C are designed for hazardous environments and are ATEX certified. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for installation, operation, and maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency.

ATEX Certification
The motors are certified for explosive atmospheres under ATEX standards, with specifications including:
  • Equipment group II for above-ground use
  • Category 2G for Zone 1 or 2, and 2D for Zone 21 or 22
  • Gas group IIC and Dust group IIIC
  • Temperature class T4 with a maximum surface temperature of 135°C
  • Ambient temperature range: -20°C to +60°C

Warranty and Safety
The warranty covers manufacturing defects if installation and maintenance guidelines are followed. Unauthorized repairs void the warranty. Safety instructions stress the use of protective gear and adherence to ATEX guidelines.

Installation Guidelines
Proper installation is essential for performance. Key points include:
  • Grounding the motor with a maximum earth resistance of 1MΩ.
  • Using a 64 µm air filter and maintaining a clean air supply.
  • Installing a lubricator in the airline and using ISO VG 32 oil.
  • Ensuring correct alignment to avoid excessive shaft force.

Operation Instructions
Operational safety and efficiency depend on:
  • Maintaining recommended speeds and loads.
  • Regularly checking and cleaning filters.
  • Monitoring for unusual sounds or vibrations.
  • Using air dryers to prevent moisture issues.

Performance Regulation
Regulating air flow is preferred for controlling motor speed without losing torque. Exhaust air throttling is less optimal.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Regular maintenance includes:
  • Checking airline oil and filters.
  • Inspecting for wear and tear.
  • Following shutdown procedures for long storage.
Troubleshooting guidance is provided for common issues.

Dimensions and Spare Parts
Diagrams and parts lists are included for each motor model to assist with repairs and replacements.

Conclusion
Following the guidelines in this manual ensures safe and efficient operation of GLOBE Vane Air Motors in hazardous environments.
Specifications and Performance
The document discusses air motor speed regulation, emphasizing supply air throttling for durability, smooth operation, and reduced air consumption. It highlights pressure and air flow regulation for optimal performance, allowing adaptation to different applications. The compressibility of air provides a dampening effect, enabling the motor to start under load and respond quickly to load changes.

Pressure and Air Flow Regulation
Pressure regulation adjusts output power, with decreased supply pressure reducing torque and power, flattening the torque curve, and enhancing durability. A combination of pressure and air flow regulation is recommended for optimal power and speed control.

Maintenance Procedures
Maintenance is crucial for performance and longevity. Key steps include checking and cleaning intake filters and silencers, ensuring proper lubrication, and following specific rebuild instructions. Maintenance should be performed by certified staff, and service kits can be ordered from the manufacturer.

Safety and Operational Warnings
Users should wear eye protection due to potential hazards from air streams containing solid or liquid materials. Maintenance should not be performed in explosive atmospheres, and proper shutdown procedures must be followed to prevent damage.

Rebuild Instructions
The document provides detailed instructions for maintaining vane motors, emphasizing precise tolerances and correct rotor spacing. It includes guidelines for assembling motor components and ensuring adequate lubrication.

Troubleshooting
Common issues such as low speed, low torque, and overheating are addressed with solutions like inspecting for dirt or rust, adjusting air pressure, and ensuring adequate air flow.

Technical Specifications
The document includes detailed technical specifications for different motor models (VA6J&X, VS6C, VA6C), including dimensions, maximum temperature, and force limits. It also provides spare parts lists and diagrams for assembly and maintenance.

Performance Data
Graphs and tables illustrate the relationship between torque, speed, and air consumption at various pressures, providing insights into the motor's performance under different conditions.

With the regulation of the inlet pressure and the flow rate, the performance can be adapted to the individual application. This is done by pressure or air flow regulation or a combination of both. The compressibility of the air generates a dampening effect in all ranges. This allows that the motor also can be started, while it is loaded. With a load reduction, the motor reacts immediately with an increase in speed. With pressure regulation the output power can be adjusted. When the supply pressure is decreased, the torque and power is reduced proportionally and the torque curve becomes flatter....
