FBG GiMfirtc @ A business of BARNES The vacuum gripping systems in the FGS series feature an integrated vacuum generator, or they can be connected to an external vacuum generator. They are available with self-closing valves or calibrated holes. The integrated vacuum generator consists of EJ-LARGE-HF-3 multistage ejectors with a high suction flow rate and reduced energy consumption. They have no moving mechanical parts and do not generate heat. The FBG series of vacuum gripping systems is designed for handling heavy bags of both liquid and solid materials with different shapes and weights. Each...

SELF-CLOSING VALVES HOW THEY WORK The vacuum channel has a chamber with a metal ball inside. If there is no object to pick up, the ball moves and seals the vacuum channel. WHEN THEY ARE USED Ideal for different applications and formats where a high vacuum level is needed, even if most of the surface being handled may not be gripped. ADVANTAGES Quicker, more flexible and less sensitive to dust, with reduced energy consumption because smaller pumps can be used. DISADVANTAGES The maximum permitted rotation is 45°. The manipulator is heavier than the version with calibrated holes. GOOOPERATING CYCLE...

The vacuum channel has a constriction (tiny calibrated hole) that generates a known leak in the vacuum chamber if there is no object to pick up. WHEN THEY ARE USED Ideal when self-closing valves cannot be used (e.g. vertical movement) or when the gripping system covers about 90% of the surface being handled. Works even at 180°. The manipulator is light in weight. DISADVANTAGES The surface of the manipulator must be contact with about 80% of the total area of the object. 1- Positioning the gripping system on the object being handled, parallel to the gripping surface. 2- Bringing the gripping system...

If there is no object to pick up, the ball moves and seals the vacuum channel and the calibrated hole generates a known leak in the vacuum chamber. WHEN THEY ARE USED Ideal for different applications and formats when the piece must be rotated more than 45° and it must be gripped and released quickly. ADVANTAGES Works even at 180°. The coding system for the vacuum gripping systems is such that each product can be readily identified. The codes are “mnemonic” ones that contain clear and concise information on the model, dimensions (length and width) and main features of each item. This makes it possible to quickly identify the various models available and select the exact product best suited to one’s needs.
