Material Guide - Conductive silicone

Product catalog summary
Introduction
This document provides a comprehensive guide to conductive silicone materials, detailing their properties, standards, and applications. It is intended for use in environments requiring electromagnetic shielding.

Specifications
The document lists various types of conductive silicone, each with specific properties such as elastomer binder type, conductive filler, volume resistivity, hardness, density, break resistance, elongation at break, tear strength, residual deformation, working temperature, and color. These properties are measured according to standards like MIL G 83528 and ASTM.

Conductive Fillers
Conductive fillers used include silver-plated copper, pure silver, silver-plated nickel, nickel graphite, and others. The choice of filler affects the electromagnetic performance and suitability for different environments.

Performance Objectives
The formulations aim to achieve electrical continuity, mechanical performance, and resistance to extreme temperatures. All formulations meet the MIL G 83528 standard.

Shielding Performance
Shielding effectiveness is measured at various frequencies (20 MHz to 10 GHz), with performance varying across different silicone types.

Available Formats
Conductive silicones are available in formats such as injection molded, cut, extruded, vulcanization bonding, and sheets. Sheet sizes and thickness tolerances are specified.

Additional Features
Products can be made available in fire/toxicity-retardant versions and comply with standards like UL and EN45545 upon request.

Material Guide - Conductive silicone-1

GUIDE TO CONDUCTIVE SILICONE SHEET SIZE 300mm x 300mm Thickness (mm) The conductive particles (10 to 40 micron) forming the load (between 60% and 80% of the load) of our conductive formulations can be varied in order to achieve the right formulation for each application and environment. All our formulations meet MIL G 83528 standard and guarantee to comply with your customer specifications. We use specific silicone grades as the basis of our formulations to which we add conductive loads so that they have electromagnetic shielding properties. The load used depends on the electromagnetic performance desired and the environment your equipment is working in.
