Steam Traps for SIP Applications

Product catalog summary
Introduction
GESTRA has introduced a new steam trap model, SMK 22-81, designed for Sterilization in Place (SIP) applications. This model is a cost-effective addition to the existing SMK series, featuring a high-quality regulating capsule for efficient condensate discharge and reliable sterilization processes.
Specifications
The SMK 22-81, like its predecessors SMK 22 and SMK 22-51, is constructed from stainless steel type 1.4404. It is designed to minimize welded connections and allows for easy exchange of the functional unit without bending the line. The internal surface roughness is Ra ≤ 0.8 µm, with an optional finish of Ra ≤ 0.6 µm.
Applications
The SMK 22-81 is suitable for small to medium condensate flow rates and is virtually pocket-free, ensuring efficient operation. It is compatible with socket connections for mounting between clamps DIN 32676-DN 40.
Pressure/Temperature Ratings
The SMK 22-81 is rated at PN 10 with a maximum pressure of 10 bar and a temperature limit of 185°C with a PTFE gasket (150°C with an EPDM gasket). These ratings are consistent across the SMK series.
Capacity Charts
The capacity charts illustrate the maximum discharge capacities for hot and cold condensate. Curve 1 represents the maximum capacity for hot condensate, while Curve 2 shows the capacity for cold condensate at start-up (20°C).
Additional Products
Other steam traps and non-return valves for sterile and aseptic applications include models MK 45A-1, MK 45A-2, MK 36/51, MK 36/52, UNA 16A, UNA 26A, VKE stainless steel, RK 86A, RK 16A, and RK 26A.

Steam Traps for SIP Applications-1

GESTRA Steam Traps for SIP Applications GESTRA Steam Trap SMK 22-81 for SIP applications GESTRA has added a low-cost variant type SMK 22-81 to its product range of steam traps for SIP applications. Like the field-proven types SMK 22 and SMK 22-51, the new SMK 22-81, too, features the highquality GESTRA capsule with regulating membrane. This regulating capsule ensures rapid warming up and immediate condensate discharge without any banking-up, thereby guaranteeing absolutely safe and reliable sterilization processes. Like all other traps of the SMK series, the new SMK 22-81 is also made from stainless steel type 1.4404. Thanks to the design of the trap fewer welded connections are necessary and, if required, the functional unit can be exchanged without having to bend the line.
