STEAM-TRAP-MONITORING

Product catalog summary
Introduction
GESTRA provides a comprehensive program for testing and monitoring steam traps, which are crucial for maintaining efficient steam systems. The document outlines various solutions for both mobile and permanent monitoring of steam traps to prevent issues such as live steam loss and condensate banking-up.
Mobile Steam Trap Testing
The VKP 10 and VKP 40 are mobile test sets designed for temporary monitoring of steam traps. The VKP 10 is a cost-effective solution that uses a measuring transducer to detect sound signals from steam traps. The VKP 40, available in a standard and ATEX-compliant version, is suitable for repetitive measurements and allows for automatic testing and evaluation via a PC.
Optical Steam Trap Monitoring
The VK 14 and VK 16 models offer permanent optical monitoring of steam traps. These devices can be installed in horizontal or vertical pipework and provide a visual indication of the steam trap's status. They are designed to be durable with no moving parts, although occasional cleaning may be required.
System Benefits
The monitoring systems can handle up to 16 steam traps per unit, offering high sensitivity and easy installation. They help in reducing steam losses, improving plant availability, and minimizing environmental impact by lowering CO2 emissions.
Configuration Examples
Several configuration examples are provided, illustrating different setups for conductive and electrical monitoring of steam traps. These configurations demonstrate the flexibility and adaptability of GESTRA's monitoring systems to various plant requirements.
Conclusion
GESTRA's steam trap monitoring solutions are designed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of steam systems, offering both mobile and permanent options to suit different operational needs.

STEAM-TRAP-MONITORING-1

Steam Trap Monitoring Optical Steam Trap Monitoring Mobile Steam Trap Testing ◗ Optical possibility for permanent monitoring of steam traps for banking-up and loss of live steam ◗ Mobile test sets VKP 10 and VKP 40 for temporary monitoring of steam traps ◗ Installation in horizontal or vertical pipework, upstream of the trap to be monitored ◗ As a low-cost solution, the VKP 10 offers a measuring transducer for detecting the sound signals emitted by steam traps. These can then be evaluated easily by observing the deflection of the level meter ◗ Both the VK 14 and 16 models are fitted with a deflector that shows you the current state of the steam trap at any time (see sketch) ◗ No moving parts in the sightglass, i.e. no risk of wear and tear. Depending on the condensate quality, the sightglasses may require cleaning occasionally ◗ Subject to the nominal pressure and pH value of the water, units for PN 16 or PN 40 are available with and without additional mica discs Steam Trap Monitoring ◗ VKP 40 is available both as a normal unit and, as the VKP 40Ex, in an ATEX-compliant version for explosion-risk areas ◗ Excellently suited for repetitive measurements on a large number of steam traps ◗ Preparation of the steam trap measurement at a PC ◗ Followed by fully automatic testing of the steam traps with an easy-to-use handheld unit, without any need for individual assessment of the recorded signals ◗ Subsequent evaluation at the PC simplifies daily organization of the work, thanks to diverse job schedules und a financial analysis Universal steam trap monitoring for live steam losses and bankingup of condensate – optical The comprehensive programme for testing and monitoring ◗ Import and export of the trap databases in Excel format Further information on GESTRA steam trap monitoring is available for download free of charge at: www.gestra.de Vaposcope VK 14/16 Any steam trap, e.g. GESTRA BK 45, MK 45, UNA 14/16, UNA 23-26, or other manufacturers 818648-00/506 G · © 2006 · GESTRA AG · Bremen Printed in Germany · Technical modifications reserv
