Product catalog summary
Introduction
GESTRA, with over a century of experience in the steam trap industry, offers innovative energy-saving products. The RHOMBUSline steam traps are highlighted for their durability and serviceability. The new series of steam traps, connectors, and trap stations aim to enhance efficiency in steam and condensate applications through energy-saving technology and reduced maintenance downtime.
Product Specifications
  • BK 36A-7 Series: Bimetallic steam traps suitable for saturated and superheated applications, featuring automatic air venting and resistance to water hammer. Available in two models: BK 36A-7 with 10°C undercooling and BK 36A-7U with 30°C undercooling.
  • MK 36A-7 Series: Capsule steam traps designed for fast, intermittent or modulating discharge, ideal for saturated steam applications. Models include MK 36A-71 and MK 36A-72 for different condensate loads, with options for increased undercooling.
  • DK 36A-7: Thermodynamic steam trap suitable for outdoor applications, unaffected by rain, and capable of handling differential pressures up to 465 psi.
  • IB 16A-7: Inverted bucket steam trap with ASME Section VIII body design, available with four different orifices for pressures up to 400 psi.
Materials and Construction
All products are constructed with high-quality stainless steel materials, ensuring long-term durability and compliance with ASME standards. Specific materials include EN 1.4408 and ASTM A351-CF8M for covers and nozzle supports, and spiral wound gaskets made of graphite/CrNi.
Connection and Installation
Universal connectors and trap stations are available, designed to meet Class 300 requirements. Options include simple connection platforms (UC) or those fitted with strainers (UCY). The TS 36 trap station features piston valves with non-rising handwheels and is available in two flow directions.
Performance and Capacity
Capacity charts indicate the discharge capacities of steam traps under various conditions, with maximum operating pressures and temperatures specified for each model. The products are designed to operate efficiently across a wide range of differential pressures.
Contact Information
GESTRA's headquarters are located in Bremen, Germany, with contact details provided for various international offices, including the UK, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the USA.

Program for Universal Connections MK 36A-7 The fast energy-saving solution This capsule steam trap series is based on a fast acting, intermittent or modulating discharge pattern, which is an excellent choice for saturated steam applications. Four different capsules, varying in capacity and undercooling allow you to make the best selection for each application. Quick startup and automatic air venting without backing up of condensate are outstanding properties of this series of steam traps, which can be applied across a complete range of differential pressures up to 465 psi / 32 bar. DK 36A-7 The popular thermodynamic solution The thermodynamic steam trap relies on a working principle that is quite popular for saturated and superheated steam applications. Dual insulation prevents the high number of opening cycles often encountered in outdoor applications. Because this type is absolutely unaffected by rain in any outdoor installation, it uses less steam during rainy periods and provides constant operation even in the wet season. GESTRA offers the DK 36A-7 for differential pressures up to 465 psi / 32 bar. Materials Designation Nozzle support stainless steel spiral wound gasket...
