GESTRA-INFORMS-STROKE-LIMITER-FOR-NON-RETURN-VALVES

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document introduces a new stroke limiter for GESTRA non-return valves, specifically the RK 86 model. It addresses the issue of oversized non-return valves leading to incomplete opening and increased wear.

Problem Statement
Efficient pumps and the desire to minimize pressure losses often result in non-return valves being excessively large. This can prevent full opening, causing increased wear and potentially unpleasant rattling noises.

Solution: GESTRA Stroke Limiter
The GESTRA stroke limiter is introduced as a solution to achieve quiet and stable operation even at low flow rates. It allows for stable operation without reducing the nominal size or modifying the pipe.

Features and Benefits
  • The retrofit set includes a spring cap and stroke limiter.
  • Reduces the flowrate required for full opening by approximately 40%, depending on the nominal size.
  • Applicable to non-return valves RK 41, RK 44, RK 86, and RK 86A in nominal sizes DN 15 to DN 100.

Conclusion
The stroke limiter effectively reduces the required volumetric flowrate by 40%, ensuring stable operation and minimizing pressure loss.

informs The new stroke limiter for GESTRA non-return valves Efficient pumps and the wish to keep pressure losses to a minimum in the system mean that non-return valves are often designed excessively large. As a result, full opening cannot be achieved and the valve suffers increased wear which, in the worst case, is accompanied by unpleasant rattling noises. Until now, the volumetric flowrate of these non-return valves could only be adjusted to a limited extent, by changing the nominal size or the installation position. To ensure that users can achieve stable operation without reducing nominal size or subsequent pipe modifications, we now offer a retrofit set consisting of a spring cap and stroke limiter. This reduces the flowrate required for full opening by approx. 40%, depending on nominal size. This stroke reduction is available for non-return valves RK 41, RK 44, RK 86 and RK 86A in nominal sizes DN 15 to DN 100.
