Geovent PowerSmart II is an important component in an energy optimized, demand controlled ventilation system. PowerSmart II monitors the power consumption to determine whether the welder or another machine is activated and open a damper and/or turn on the fan accordingly. This will result in a power saving because the ventilation system is activated only when necessary. Because of the automatic activation, a better utilization of the spot extraction system is reached, thus creating a more productive and safer work environment. PowerSmart II is easy to install and use. The unit is shielded against radio interference. Geovent PowerSmart II comes with an integrated 24 volt transformer for direct connection to 24V HMO Geovent Motor Damper and a relay output for fan activation. By connecting the Geovent MultiBox I I /frequency converter the air volume will automatically be adjusted according to the number of open outputs. By activating the fans during welding only, substantial amounts can be saved. As a rule of thumb the cost of extracting 1.000 m3/h and to supply heated air can be estimated at roughly 7 kW per hour. With a single push of the button the CEE plug can be activated manually. This allows for activation even if there is no measurable power consumption. (eg. arc welding). The manual override can also be fitted externally - for instance in a welding hood or funnel. The control is built into the power outlet which makes installation much easier. The PowerSmart II is equipped with internal trims, one for adjusting sensitivity and one for adjusting afterrun. Afterrun is the amount of time the relay output will remain active after use. Inside the power outlet is a sensing coil that one of the supply phases will pass through. This coil will register any power consumption exceeding the idle usage of the connected machine. The sensitivity is adjustable from 0,2A to 16A. If the connected phase is passed through the sensing coil it will increase the sensitivity.
