The adapter exerts minimal stress on the optical fiber, and thus induces negligible birefringence and PDL. When used with PM fiber, extinction ratio of more than 50 dB can be achieved. The unique spring-loaded design makes insertion of optical fiber extremely easy. The adapter comes in a neatly designed black pouch with easy to understand instructions, a universal mating sleeve for connection to jumper cables, and a vial of cleanout wire for easy removal of fiber ends.
