KIPP-POLAR Type ZAU The Tumble Dryer ZAU brings together the features of a centrifuge and a tumbling machine. It is used for the de-oiling or washing and drying of batched components, especially small pressings, turned parts and cold formed workparts (rivets and fasteners etc.) Six Advantages Easy operation Automatic functions sequence Adaptable, with easily programmed work cycles Careful but efficient workparts processing Suitable for pressed or drawn workparts De-oiling and drying in one machine ZAU 5 with heating and rinsing facility Function Centrifuge in straight and tilted position Drying Firstly the workparts are spun up to 400 RPM with the hot-air blower operating, to spin-off the free wash water or solution leaving only a residual thin film. This remaining film is then removed by the tumbling and final drying of the secondary work cycle automatically tilting the workdrum and parts to a pre-set angle and a tumble rotation speed of 10 to 20 RPM. This slower rotation at an optimum tilt angle ensures that effective drying is achieved as the workparts surfaces are exposed to the hotair-flow. For work with blind holes or counter-bores the tumbling cycle can be repeated ensuring that workparts are constantly being re-orientated with the washing solution or water draining out and being spun-off with the hot-air flow finally and effectively drying the work. Rotational speed is infinitely variable so that delicate workparts can be processed without damage. Washing The workparts are tumble washed at the optimum inclined work-drum angle while a high volume of hot washing solution is pumped through. This flushing of the workparts with the washing solution containing a cleaning agent, dissolves the oil and grease on the workparts and is recirculated through a separate storage tank, which can be fitted with an optional oil separation unit if required.
