Plants for the de-alcoholization of beer according the falling film principle, for feed rates >10 hl/h "Beer must taste like beer". This is the main demand which is always made on the de-alcoholization of beer. For this reason, the gentle treatment of product is of major im- portance during alcohol reduction. GEA Wiegand is one of the most experienced manufacturers in the field of thermal separation technology, and our plants for the de-alcoholization of beer have been successfully sold worldwide thanks to their advantages in view of the process and of the special product features: ■ Gentle...

Plants for the de-alcoholization of beer with reverse osmosis membrane filtration for feed rates < 10 hl/h In addition to the evaporation technology by GEA Wiegand for the de-alcoholization of beer which has proven for many years, GEA Filtration offers an efficient process for the de- alcoholization of small feed rates by means of reverse- osmosis membrane filtration. These plants are based on the Crossflow membrane filtration process and are suitable for feed rates of less than 10 hl/h. There are two plant configura- tions for capacities up to 5 hl/h and up to 10 hl/h available. Thanks to...

Plants for the production of clear malt beverage as a basic substance for alcoholic beverages As a basic substance for so-called FAB (flavoured alcoholic beverages), a discoloured and purified water-alcohol mix- ture is used. The basic material is beer (fermented alcohol bases). Undesirable ingredients, such as sugar, salts and long-chain colour and aroma components are separated. The membrane filtration plant can easily be integrated into an existing brewery in order to add a FAB process line. The expenditure regarding the equipment is low, the con- struction is compact, cost-efficient...

Plant for beer recovery from surplus yeast using Crossflow membrane filtration The major beer extract loss in the processing of beer is in the generation of surplus yeast (tank bottoms) during the fermen- tation and storage of beer. Typically up to 3% of a brewery's output is lost in surplus yeast. By means of membrane filtra- tion the beer which is still contained in the tank bottoms can be recovered by separating it from the yeast and from the high-molecular substances. GEA Filtration offers an effective process to recover beer from tank bottoms by means of Crossflow membrane nitration....

Clarification and concentration of malt extract with Crossflow membrane filtration and evaporation An ultrafiltration plant with spiral wound modules is used for the clarification of malt extract. During this process, the turbid substances - fine solid particles and insoluble protein components - that remain in the liquid after lautering are removed in a gentle manner. Dissolved protein components still can precipitate in the subsequent process steps, e. g. dur- ing thermal concentration and thus cause a turbidity of the malt extract. The process takes place at low temperatures in order to...

Conveying, mixing and carbonating with jet pumps technology Jet pumps are used in different process steps in the brewing Liquid jet solids pumps convey fluid or granular product by means of a motive liquid. They are perfectly suited to admix solid, fluid or granular components like sugar, fruit concen- trate or syrup. The motive fluid is here the product into which the flowable granular material shall be mixed with. The material being conveyed passes through a funnel into the jet pump The motive liquid flows at a high speed from the motive nozzle into the mixing room of the pump and...
