GD Pasteurizer Unit Description The GD Pasteurizer Unit consists of a multi-section plate heat exchanger (PHE) with three sections for product, a resting section (minimum 16 seconds holding time), a water and steam regulating system with soldered PHE for water tempering, 2x water pump, valves and necessary piping. The unit is complete with hot water make-up and circulation pump. All motors and electrical devices are appropriate for wet environments. Transmitters and valves are pre-piped and prewired to a local mounted junction box. All units are delivered as a Plug-&-Play concept. Application The GD Pasteurizer Unit is designed for continuous pasteurization of an emulsion from the emulsion tank. It is comprised of three sections: heat recovery, pasteurization and cooling section. After the cooling section, the margarine emulsion is tempered to a controlled, constant outlet temperature. It is designed with a fat content of 80% and designed for cleaning in place. Materials Product contacting parts, including the plates in the PHE for product, are made of stainless steel AISI 316. Options For products containing salt, less than 1% in the emulsion, SMO is recommended as PHE plate material. For products containing more than 1% salt in the emulsion, titanium is recommended as PHE plate material. For improved steam return we can, on customer request, include a condensate pump on the unit. Integration The free place at one side allows for fast and simple maintenance at the PHE. The Plate Heat Exchanger comprises a heat recovery section. This section saves energy up to 70%. Designed for emulsion with a fat content of 80%, salt content less than 1%, protein content less than 3%.
