The DOMUS HP pressure regulator, developed by GASCAT, is designed for high-pressure applications with an inlet pressure of up to 650 bar. It offers precise pressure regulation with an accuracy of up to 1% and a lock-up of up to 10%. Constructed from stainless steel, it is suitable for use with non-corrosive gases such as Natural Gas, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Hydrogen. Key applications include natural gas decompression stations, wellheads, virtual pipelines, industrial processes using high-pressure cylinders, high-pressure test benches, and gas lifts.
The regulator operates on the principle of pressure loading in the dome chamber. The integrated pilot receives inlet pressure from the upstream sensing line and discharges it into the loading chamber, acting on a diaphragm to open or close the valve. A bleed valve relieves excess pressure when needed, and a small spring keeps the valve closed when there is no gas consumption.
The regulator's body and internal components are made from Stainless Steel AISI 316, with optional Carbon Steel. The shutter is made from UHMW/PTFE, and the seat is also Stainless Steel AISI 316. Elastomers include BUNA-N, with optional FKM and EPDM. The filter element is Stainless Steel AISI 316 with a filtration degree of 50 micra.
Maximum inlet pressure is 650 bar, with an outlet pressure range of 2 to 300 bar. The temperature range is -20°C to +60°C for BUNA-N/VITON and -40°C to +60°C for EPDM. Connection options include ANSI B16.5 flanges and BSP or NPT-F threads.
Sizing is based on determining if the flow is critical or sub-critical, converting flow values for different gases, and ensuring the flow capacity does not exceed 90%. The regulator is designed for high differential pressure applications, and a heater is recommended to prevent freezing due to the Joule-Thomson effect.
