Procedure

  4. The operator presses palm buttons to apply complete rings of paste to the inner lip of each header and a paste pattern to the tube bundle.
  5. Remove the striped headers, invert the tube bundle, and apply the same paste pattern to the opposite end of the tube bundle.
  6. The tube bundle is removed, assembled with headers, and loaded into a separate vacuum brazing furnace.
Robot Capabilities
  • The paste pattern is programmable for future product design changes.
  • The robot can store up to 99 different programs using a hand-held teach pendant.

The robot applies Fusion nickel paste accurately around the 37-tube bundle.
