Product catalog summary
Overview: The Fujitsu MB86626 KeyWave™AFE is an analog front end designed for ADSL modems, integrating high-resolution ADCs and DACs with active filtering to minimize external component requirements. It supports both analog and digital echo cancellation, making it suitable for cost-sensitive Remote Terminal (RT) and power-sensitive Central Office (CO) equipment.
Features:
  • Integrates all active circuits except the transmit line driver.
  • Programmable for G.dmt (1 channel) or G.lite (2 channel).
  • Low power operation at 3.3V, ranging from 235mW/ch to 525mW.
  • Integrated filters and 15-bit A/D & D/A converters.
  • 0 to +38 dB AGC range for the receive channel.
  • Supports analog and digital echo cancellation.
  • Manufactured using 0.35µm CMOS technology with Triple Well.
  • Operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Applications: The device is suitable for ADSL modems, supporting various DSL variants like G.dmt, G.lite, and G.Shdsl. It can be used in both CO and RT setups, FDM and echo cancelling systems, and coexists with ISDN.
Functional Description: The MB86626 features two 15-bit DACs and ADCs with associated filters and programmable gain amplifiers. It includes a clock multiplier and bandgap reference on-chip, with differential analog signal paths to reduce component count. The device supports analog echo cancellation to improve receiver noise performance on long lines.
Transmit and Receive Channel: The receiver front end includes programmable attenuators and anti-aliasing filters with adjustable cut-off frequency and gain. The transmit path features dual DACs with programmable filters, supporting both parallel and independent operation for CO and RT use.
Data and Serial Control Interfaces: Data transfer is facilitated via a 16-bit data bus, configurable for uni-directional or bi-directional operation. Configuration registers are accessed through a 4-wire serial interface.
Clock Multiplier and VCXO Control: The device requires an external clock source, with an internal clock multiplier generating necessary clocks. VCXO control is provided via a Sigma-Delta DAC.
Development Kit: The DK86626-2 Development Kit offers a complete evaluation environment, including an evaluation board, spare MB86626, PC software for register programming, and necessary accessories.
