Introduction
The FSM filterscreen was developed to address specific challenges in sewage pre-treatment plants. Since its first installation in 1987, the design has evolved to meet increasing user demands, resulting in a high-performance product with low operating costs. Over 1500 units have been installed worldwide.

Functional Principle
The filterscreen operates by allowing wastewater to flow through perforated stainless steel filter elements, retaining contaminants. A continuous filter belt is cleaned by a brush, assisted by jets proportional to the screenings load. Tines prevent the build-up of large matter, ensuring effective removal. The design maintains a constant distance between the brush and filter elements for efficient cleaning.

Performance and Efficiency
FSM screens with 6 mm holes filter out double the screenings compared to stage screens with the same gap size, achieving a retention figure of approximately 76%. This efficiency prevents clogging and reduces maintenance costs.
