Center Flow Screen

Product catalog summary
Introduction:
The FSM Center Flow Screen is designed to address specific challenges in wastewater pre-treatment and raw water intake. Developed by FSM Frankenberger GmbH & Co. KG, the equipment has been in use since 1973, initially for generating cooling water for power plants.

Applications:
  • Municipal and industrial clarification plants for wastewater pre-treatment and fine screening.
  • Power stations for river or sea water screening.
  • Potable water treatment plants for river or sea water screening.

Functional Principle:
The unscreened water enters the screen inlet centrally and is screened as it flows outward through the filter elements. These elements form a continuous filter belt, cleaned by a spray bar. The filter elements can be made of woven wire mesh or perforated plates, effectively removing suspended contaminants. Optional brushes can assist in cleaning, and screenings are discharged into various containers.

Features:
  • High reliability and robust construction ensure continuous operation.
  • No carry-over effect of screenings to downstream processes.
  • Optimal cleaning of filter elements with a spray bar and optional brush.
  • Positive conveyance of screenings to discharge points.
  • Excellent cost/performance ratio with low maintenance costs.
  • Suitable for outdoor and winter operations.
  • Adaptable to changing operating conditions.
  • Completely enclosed for odor control.

Specifications:
  • Filter width: 300 to 5000 mm.
  • Shaft center distance: Up to 15000 mm, larger sizes on request.
  • Filter element mesh size: 0.5 to 3 mm, larger sizes on request.
  • Filter element perforation: 1 to 12 mm, larger sizes on request.
  • Mounting angle: 90°.

Materials:
  • Machine frame and filter elements: Stainless steel SS304 or SS316, other materials on request.
  • Chains and chain sprockets: Wear-resistant steel or stainless steel.
  • Rollers: PA, wear-resistant steel or stainless steel.
  • Side sealing: HDPE.
  • Drives: Geared motors, make SEW.
  • Sea/brackish water use: Sea water resistant materials for screen frame, filter panels, chains, and sprockets.

Center Flow Screen-2

FSM Center Flow Screen For waste water and raw water Functional principle: The FSM Center Flow Screen was developed to deal with particular problems associated with waste water pre-treatment and raw water intake. FSM is working in this field since 1973. The first machines are used to generate cooling water for power plants from rivers. Parallel to the increasing demands of users, FSM introduced modifications to the basic design. These have resulted in an optimum product for the preliminary treatment of waste or river (sea) water - providing high performance coupled with low operating costs. The...
