Magnetic Filter FMF 420

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Friess Magnetic Filter FMF 420 is designed to efficiently remove particles from emulsions, cutting oils, grinding oils, and similar fluids. It offers significant advantages such as reduced operating costs, decreased machine wear, and improved tool life and surface quality.
Technical Specifications:
  • Model 420/3: Max flow rate (water) 250 l/min, (oil) 125 l/min, operating pressure 15 bar, connector 1 1/2" BSP, dirt holding capacity 3 Kg, 3 magnetic rods, dimensions 511/170 x 170 mm, weight 13.2 Kg.
  • Model 420/6: Max flow rate (water) 500 l/min, (oil) 250 l/min, operating pressure 10 bar, connector 2 1/2" BSP, dirt holding capacity 6 Kg, 6 magnetic rods, dimensions 511/200 x 200 mm, weight 19.6 Kg.
Operating Principle:
  • Conventional filters allow particles smaller than the pore size to remain, reducing efficiency and increasing wear.
  • The FMF magnetic filter removes ferritic and paramagnetic particles down to less than 1µm, preventing filter blockage and maintaining clear flow paths.
Operation: Liquid enters through the inlet, flows along magnetic rods where particles adhere, and exits as cleaned liquid. High separation efficiency is achieved due to strong magnetic fields.
Cleaning: Magnetic rods can be easily cleaned with a supplied tool, allowing for recycling or disposal of particles.
Applications: Suitable for use with emulsions, grinding oil, washing water, fuel, and drawing and honing oil.
Variants: A high-temperature resistant version is available, capable of withstanding up to 130°C.
