Application
The contact gauges VBK are designed for measuring strip material and flat wire made of metal, with an optional feature for profiled wire.

The measurement range is 0 – 32 mm with a throat depth of 20 mm. The system allows for a maximal pass line variation of ± 1 mm and a measurement resolution of 0.1 to 0.5 µm. Measurement accuracy is ± 0.1% of the nominal value, with a sampling rate of 1 kHz and an averaging time of 1 – 2,000 ms.

Dimensions
The installation space width is 100 mm for thickness measurement only and 165 mm for both thickness and width measurements. The height below the pass line is 200 mm, and the width outside the line is also 200 mm.

Connection Data / Consumptions / Environment
Interfaces include PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP, and TCP/IP. The supply voltage is 110 – 230 V AC, with a connected load of 1 kW. The protection class is IP64 for the gauge head and IP55 for the pneumatic cabinet. The operating environment temperature ranges from 5 – 50 °C with relative humidity from 0 – 95%.

Options
Options include special strip guiding for disadvantageous proportions of strip thickness to width, adjustable cardanic suspension for stiff or thick material, cylindrical guiding rolls for strip width > 20 mm, and profiled guiding rolls for profiled wire.
