Material Overview: Durable Resin is designed for low friction and wear applications, offering a smooth, glossy finish with high resistance to deformation. It is suitable for consumer packaging, snap fits, flexures, bushings, bearings, and living hinges.
Specifications: The resin is characterized by low modulus, high elongation, and high impact strength. It is priced at $175 per liter.
Material Properties:- Tensile Properties: Ultimate tensile strength is 18.6 MPa (green) and 31.8 MPa (post-cured). Tensile modulus is 0.45 GPa (green) and 1.26 GPa (post-cured). Elongation is 67% (green) and 49% (post-cured).
- Flexural Properties: Flexural stress at 5% strain is 4.06 MPa (green) and 27.2 MPa (post-cured). Flexural modulus is 0.16 GPa (green) and 0.82 GPa (post-cured).
- Impact Properties: Notched IZOD impact strength is 130.8 J/m (green) and 109 J/m (post-cured).
- Temperature Properties: Heat deflection temperature at 0.45 MPa is less than 30°C (green) and 43.3°C (post-cured). Thermal expansion is 117.0 μm/m/°C (green) and 145.1 μm/m/°C (post-cured).
Solvent Compatibility: The resin shows varying degrees of weight gain when immersed in different solvents for 24 hours. Notable results include:
- Acetic Acid (5%): 1.3% weight gain
- Acetone: Sample cracked
- Isopropyl Alcohol: 5.1% weight gain
- Butyl Acetate: 7.9% weight gain
- Diethyl glycol monomethyl ether: 7.8% weight gain
- Xylene: 6.5% weight gain
- Minimal weight gain (<1%) in solvents like isooctane, mineral oils, salt water, and sodium hydroxide.
Notes: Material properties can vary based on part geometry, print orientation, print settings, and temperature. Data was obtained from parts printed using Form 2, 100 μm, Durable settings, with and without post-curing.
