Product catalog summary
Material Overview: Formlabs Clear Resin is designed for Form 1+ and Form 2 3D printers, producing strong, clear plastic parts suitable for various applications. It can be painted and finished to achieve high clarity. Post-cure, it offers superior tensile strength and stiffness compared to ABS.
Material Properties:
  • Tensile Properties: Ultimate tensile strength is 38 MPa (green) and 65 MPa (post-cured). Young’s modulus is 1.6 GPa (green) and 2.8 GPa (post-cured). Elongation at failure is 12% (green) and 6.2% (post-cured).
  • Flexural Properties: Flexural modulus is 1.25 GPa (green) and 2.2 GPa (post-cured).
  • Impact Properties: Notched IZOD impact strength is 16 J/m (green) and 25 J/m (post-cured).
  • Temperature Properties: Heat deflection temperature at 264 psi is 42.7 °C (green) and 58.4 °C (post-cured); at 66 psi, it is 49.7 ºC (green) and 73.1 ºC (post-cured).
Solvent Compatibility: The resin shows minimal weight gain (<1%) when exposed to most solvents like acetic acid, isopropyl alcohol, bleach, diesel, and water. It is not compatible with acetone and strong acids, which cause cracking and distortion, respectively.
Notes: Material properties can vary based on part geometry, print orientation, settings, and temperature. Data was obtained from parts printed with Form 2 at 100 µm settings, with post-curing involving 405 nm LED light at 60 ºC for 60 minutes.
