Measuring Amplifiers

Product catalog summary
Overview
FMS Tension Control Measuring Amplifiers offer a comprehensive range of technologies including analog, digital, and fieldbus network compatibility. They are designed for easy operation and configuration through various interfaces such as keypads, web browsers, mobile devices, or fieldbus protocols. The amplifiers can be installed in different configurations including DIN rail, panel, and wall mounts, and are fully compatible with FMS force sensors, making them suitable for both new installations and retrofits.
FMS Measuring Amplifiers
FMS has developed a wide range of measuring amplifiers to meet dynamic application requirements, economic pressures, and technological innovations. From the first analog amplifier to the latest network-compatible models, FMS has delivered numerous solutions tailored to specific project challenges. The company emphasizes integrating the latest performance features and maintaining close cooperation with customers to drive product development.
Functional Description
The amplifiers process mV signals from sensors using analog or digital technology. They include functions like Offset to compensate for roller weight and Calibration to scale the amplifier output to a proportional force value. The output signal is then fed into a PLC or other process controllers. FMS amplifiers are used across various industries including Converting, Pulp & Paper, Metals, Textiles, and Wire & Cable.
Technical Specifications
The document provides detailed technical specifications for various models of FMS amplifiers, including interface versions, IP protection ratings, input and output configurations, operation and display options, performance cycle times, and additional options. The amplifiers support a range of configurations and outputs, including voltage and current outputs, and are designed to operate within a temperature range of 0 to 50°C with a power supply of 24 VDC.

FMS Tension Control Measuring Amplifiers l Full Range of Technologies Analog, digital and use with fieldbus networks l Easy Operation and Configuration Optional via keypad, web browser, mobile device, or fieldbus protocol l Versatile Installation Options A vailable in DIN rail, panel, and wall mount versions depending on requirements Full compatibility with all FMS force sensors Optimum performance with FMS force sensors and suitable in many cases for retrofit with other make force sensors FMS Measuring Amplifiers Dynamic application requirements, economic pressures and technological innovation have all influenced our developments to provide quality, cost effective solutions to industry. From the first analog amplifier (EMGZ306 which is still in production) to the newest models with full network compatibility, we have delivered tens of thousands of amplifiers. Each project has its own challenges, and with our wide range of products we are typically able to provide a solution. As a technological leader in the market, FMS strives to integrate the latest performance features into the products. The close cooperation we maintain with our customers, drove the development of our first digital amplifier models, and later led to the wide range of network compatible products now available. Functional description The mV signal from the sensor is amplified and processed using either analog or digital technology. The Offset >0< Function will compensate for roller weight, and the Calibration CAL Function will scale the amplifier to provide a signal that is proportional to an actual force value. The output signal from the device is than fed into a PLC or other process controller. The wide range of amplifier products ensures that the required features (e.g. communication format, display type, mounting configuration, IP rating, etc.) will be available for your project. References for FMS tension measuring amplifiers can be found in the Converting, Pulp & Paper, Metals, Textiles and Wire & Cable industries.
