Hydrovar®

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document introduces the new generation of Flygt Hydrovar, a system designed for enhanced multipump capacity and energy efficiency in water and wastewater management. It highlights the ability to connect up to 8 Hydrovar pumps in a multi-controller mode, offering significant flexibility and energy savings.

Specifications and Features
The Flygt Hydrovar system supports integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and includes Modbus communication as standard. It accommodates various sensor types with an enhanced input signal range and offers two sensor inputs for safety and operational efficiency. The system is available in Single and Master versions, with the Master unit capable of controlling up to 5 fixed-speed pumps in cascade relay mode.

Operational Efficiency
The Hydrovar system automatically adjusts pump performance to meet varying demands, maintaining constant system pressure in water supply and booster stations. It eliminates the need for external panels and controllers, as all hydraulic control functions are integrated. The motor fan optimizes cooling based on pump power and speed, extending maintenance intervals.

Energy Savings
Significant energy savings of up to 70% are achievable, particularly when operating centrifugal pumps at partial loads. The document provides an example of energy savings in a closed-loop HVAC system, demonstrating potential savings in kWh and a payback period of less than one year.

Retrofitting and Installation
The Hydrovar unit's mounting method allows for simple and cost-effective retrofitting on existing pumps. It is compatible with all standard asynchronous motors suitable for Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) operation.

Conclusion
ITT Water & Wastewater offers integrated solutions for fluid handling, with a global presence and expertise in wastewater transport and treatment. The Flygt Hydrovar represents a significant advancement in pump technology, providing enhanced efficiency and operational flexibility.

Enhanced multipump capability Here’s what the industry has been waiting for – the next generation Flygt Hydrovar that offers even greater exibility. Up to 8 Hydrovar pumps can be connected to one system in a multi-controller mode. We’ve taken pumping to a new level of efciency, too, with energy savings up to 70%. 12 0 50 0 25% Q[m³/h] 100 150 P [kW] 10 8 6 4 2 0 2 50% 75% 100% The software structure has been enhanced, too. So much more The new generation Flygt Hydrovar concept means you only pay for what you really need. It’s easy to integrate into a BMS system, and Modbus communication is standard. Hydrovar supports various types of sensors because of an enhanced input signal range (4-20mA, 0-20mA, 0-10Vdc). There are two sensor inputs for implementing two actual value signals within one system– min/max, difference. Or for a second sensor for safety reasons. Available Hydrovar versions include Single and Master. 3

Single inverter Only one Flygt Hydrovar Master unit is needed for controlling up to 5 fixed speed pumps in the cascade relay mode. While as many as 8 Master Hydrovar pumps can be connected to The extended manual control mode has different fixed speed values that are changeable with an external contact. Hydrovar features pro- grammable output signals, too-analogue out/digital out. As you would expect, retrofitting is possible for all existing standard asynchronous motors that are suitable for VFD operation. Signicant energy savings of up to 70% are possible with the new generation Flygt Hydrovar. This is particularly the case when a centrifugal pump is running at partial loads. For instance: By operating a closed loop HVAC system in accordance with system curve compensation, you are lowering the required pressure in the system. This reduces speed/power required from the pump and can result in energy savings of up to 70%. Example: Circulation pump with nominal power in partial load operation. Capacity in % Power consumption as per curve Saving in kW Saving per 1/3 year (2.920 h) Pump at const. speed...
