Installation of PPU at Orient Cement Unloading of the gearbox In order to ensure proper load distribution the lifting ropes must be carefully positioned. Furthermore the output shaft of the gearbox must be in level while hanging on the crane. Cleaning of surfaces Prior to the installation of the gearbox, the gear output shaft, roller press shaft and the shrink disc must be thoroughly cleaned. To ensure prober installation and reliable function of the shrink disc, the surfaces must be absolutely free from oil, dust and other contaminations. Assembly of the shrink disc on the output shaft The shrink disc was mounted and positioned on the gear output shaft prior to the installation with the roller press. Installation and alignment of the gearbox The PPU was installed onto the roller press drive shaft by using a suitable crane and lifting ropes. In order to ensure smooth installation, it's essential to check the shaft for sharp edges and high points prior to its installation. Retightening of the shrink disc After successful installation of the gearbox onto the roller press, all the bolts of the shrink disc must be tighten with its specified torque.
