Shriver Filter Press

Shriver Filter Press

Shriver Filter Press

Product catalog summary
Introduction
FLSmidth Shriver® filter presses are advanced devices for dewatering, with a history of innovation since the early 1900s. They offer a variety of designs and features to handle complex and simple applications, supported by an experienced sales and service team.

Typical Operation
Filter presses consist of a skeleton frame and a plate stack, achieving filtration by clamping plates and pumping slurry under pressure. The process continues until the cavity is filled with cake or a preset pressure is reached. Key factors affecting filtration rate include feed pressure, cake thickness, slurry temperature, and filter media.

Applications
These presses are used in various industries, including minerals, hazardous waste, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, pigments, precious metals, ore processing, coal dewatering, water treatment, biological sludges, oilfield muds, and food products.

Basic Shriver® Filter Press Features
The Shriver® “FB” filter press offers easy operation, corrosion resistance, minimal space requirements, and efficient cake washing. It combines U.S. technologies with local manufacturing and service, supported by over 100 years of experience and 30,000 installations worldwide.

Skeleton Configurations
Two main designs are available: Sidebar and Overhead Beam. Sidebar designs are cost-effective and lighter but have limited access to plates. Overhead Beam designs offer full access and stability but are more expensive and heavier.

Plate Types and Materials
FLSmidth offers a range of plate types and materials, including polypropylene, nylon, Kynar, iron, and stainless steel. Options include plate and frame, recessed chamber, CGR, and membrane plates.

Plate Shifters
Several shifter designs are available, such as Hydrashift™, Univatic™, and ALP™, to enhance operational efficiency. Shifters can be manual or automatic.

Closing Mechanisms
FLSmidth provides Shriver closing devices for various pressures, from manual to complex automatic systems. Standard models use an air-oil hydraulic system, with options for electric systems.

Features and Options
FLSmidth offers a wide range of options, including filter media, drip trays, cake dumpsters, filtrate blowdown systems, and automated controls. Safety features and high-temperature materials are also available.

Shriver plate types, materials, porting arrangements & plate shifter designs Either typical or unique applications can obtain the most cost-effective plate stack from an almost endless array of Shriver combinations. Normally, polypropylene construction, using a recessed or CGR (Caulked, Gasketed and Recessed) plate will satisfy the requirements of most applications. But if you have a special situation, FLSmidth can offer any of four plate types, many materials of construction, open or closed discharge with either center or corner feed, and numerous special porting arrangements for cake washing,...
