Valdisk Control Valves

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Valtek Valdisk rotary control valve by Flowserve Corporation is engineered for high performance in fluid flow control, featuring a Jam-lever Toggle seating concept for bi-directional, bubble-tight shutoff with low breakout torque. It is suitable for both high and low pressure drops and is available in various materials and ANSI classes, making it adaptable for diverse industrial applications.
Key Features:
  • Jam-lever Toggle Seating: Enhances seating using pressure drop, reducing actuator force and breakout torque, achieving ANSI Class VI shutoff.
  • Eccentric Cammed Disc: The double offset design minimizes seat wear and improves throttling by reducing friction.
  • Material and Design: Available in carbon steel, 316 stainless steel, and other alloys, supporting ANSI Classes 150 to 2500, and sizes 2 to 30 inches.
  • Flow Characteristics: Offers modified parabolic flow characteristic with options for linear and equal percent flow characteristics through interchangeable cams.
Specifications:
  • Pressure and Temperature Ratings: Detailed tables provide maximum allowable pressures and temperatures for various materials and configurations.
  • Flow Coefficients: Indicate the valve's capacity to handle flow for different valve sizes and flange compatibility.
  • Material Selection: A temperature chart aids in selecting appropriate materials based on operating conditions.
Applications and Advantages:
  • Versatility: Suitable for various industrial applications, including fuel service valves on industrial furnaces or ovens.
  • Maintenance and Cost Efficiency: The non-selective disc and shaft design allows for easier maintenance and reduced costs by replacing only necessary parts.
  • Safety and Reliability: Features like bolted seat retainer and purged bonnet enhance safety and prevent corrosion.
Conclusion: The Valtek Valdisk control valve combines innovative design features with robust material options to deliver superior performance in fluid control applications, making it a reliable choice for industries requiring precise flow management.
Specifications and Dimensions: Detailed specifications for Valtek Valdisk control valves include dimensions for sizes ranging from 2 to 12 inches, provided in both inches and millimeters, covering seat diameter, disassembly clearance, and other critical measurements.
Ordering Information: When ordering a Valdisk control valve, required information includes preferred body size and dimensions, start-up and operating conditions, maximum operating temperatures and pressures, body and disc pressure rating, materials for body, disc, shaft, packing, and bearings, line size and schedule, actuator requirements, and any additional accessories needed.
Standards and Approvals: The Valtek Valdisk control valves are approved for use as fuel service valves under NFPA 86 A - B standards. Proper selection, installation, operation, and maintenance of Flowserve products are emphasized to ensure safety and performance.

Valdisk Control Valves-4

Valtek Valdisk Control Valves Seats Jam-lever Toggle seating concepts utilize the pressure drop across the valve to help energize the soft seat to bubble-tight shutoff in either flow direction, including alternating flow applications. This is done in such a way that seating capacity is increased as differential pressure is increased. Jam-lever Toggle soft seats achieve ANSI Class VI shutoff. Pressure shaft downstream Pressure shaft upstream Jam-lever Effect (Figure 3) As pressure enters the seat cavity with the shaft downstream, the seat jams or rotates into the disc, causing it to seat tighter...

Valtek Valdisk Control Valves Seats, FL Metal Seat Liquid Pressure Recovery Factor, FL Metal seats are used for applications involving temperatures higher than those permitted by the Jam-lever Toggle soft seat. The design incorporates a highly flexible lip, which assures full circle contact between the seat and disc when the valve is closed. Because of lip flexibility, breakout torque for the metal seat is the same or less than soft seat breakout torque. Valdisk metal seats achieve ANSI Class IV shutoff. The liquid pressure recovery factor, FL, predicts the amount of pressure recovery that will...
