Overview: The PSS II Split Seal is designed for easy installation around the shaft outside the chamber, eliminating the need to dismantle the
pump and primary driver. It features a unitized, component, semi-cartridge design that simplifies installation without special tools or measurements.
Features and Benefits: The seal includes unique setting devices for positioning and centering assemblies, a flexible stator with large radial clearance, and set screws for a positive drive mechanism. It is suitable for high viscosity services and prevents clogging with non-wetted springs and pins. The standard NPT flush tap connection ensures a clean seal environment.
Applications: Ideal for the chemical industry, pulp and paper, wastewater treatment, power generation, and mining services.
Operating Parameters: The seal operates at pressures up to 150 psig (10 bar), temperatures up to 250°F (121°C), and speeds up to 2600 RPM. It accommodates shaft sizes from 1.500 to 6.000 inches (38 to 152 mm).
Materials of Construction: The stator face is made of Carbon or Silicon Carbide, the rotor face of Aluminum Oxide or Silicon Carbide, metal parts of 316 Stainless Steel, springs of Alloy C-276, and secondary seals of Fluoroelastomer or EPR.
Dimensional Data: Detailed dimensional data is provided for various shaft sizes, ensuring compatibility and proper fit.
Additional Information: The Split Flow Reducer, made of glass-filled PTFE, is an accessory that reduces seal water flush requirements and is designed for easy installation with the PSS II.
