ALUDRILL

ALUDRILL

Product catalog summary
Overview: The ALUDRILL system allows for the creation of completely extruded threads in a single clamping operation, eliminating the need for manual counter boring and insert setting. It utilizes thermal friction drilling and thread forming to produce an extruded hole with multiple lengths of wall thickness.
Specifications:
  • Compatible with standard machine coolant; no special lubricant required.
  • Designed for coated aluminum profiles, ensuring a perfect finish without damaging the paint.
  • Capable of handling varying profile heights due to blades with an extra shallow angle.
  • Special tool geometry and smooth surface coating minimize vibrations, noise, and material buildup.
Advantages:
  • Faster and more accurate production process.
  • Reduced error potential and less need for service and repairs.
  • Ability to position threads in challenging sections, such as inside cross bars.
  • Lower production costs by replacing inserts and reducing disposal and purchasing costs.
Available Sizes: M3 to M10, UNC 4-40 to UNC 5/16-18
Operating Parameters:
  • ALUDRILL: Speed (S) = 4,000 – 8,000 rpm, Feed (F) = 100-650 mm/min
  • ALUTAP: Speed (S) = 650 – 1,400 rpm
Note: All ALUDRILL diameters are designed for roll forming taps only.

ALUDRILL-1

ALUDRILL – completely extruded threads during one single clamping Do without manual counter boring and setting of inserts! Use the established processes of thermal friction drilling + thread forming to create an extruded hole with multiple length of the wall thickness. Simply use the ALUDRILL on our machining centers with standard machine coolant. No special lubricant necessary. Particularly handle coated aluminium profiles safely with a perfect finish – without burning the paint. Even varying heights in one profile can be handled. The ALUDRILL’s blades have an extra shallow angle. The special tool geometry and an extremely smooth surface coating prevent vibrations, noises and build up material. Application examples: Advantages: Clearly faster and more accurate production Less error potential Less service and repairs at the customer site Positioning of threads is also possible in very unfavourable sections, e.g. inside cross bars Reduced production costs Replaces inserts, their disposal and purchasing costs NOTE: All ALUDRILL diameters are made for roll forming taps only!
